•  FLORIDA CAPITOL NEWS
The expiration of Florida's No-Fault Auto Insurance law has left thousands of suspended drivers with a gift. For years, Florida drivers had to prove that they carried Personal Injury Protection Or P-I-P. The law carrying that requirement.... expired on October First. Hundreds of thousands of drivers who didn't have P-I-P or could not prove they had it...Are now free to get behind the wheel. David Newberry, Florida DHSMV: '"Under the PIP law, there were some three hundred to four hundred thousand drivers who had suspensions or pending suspensions. The Department no longer has the authority to sanction them." Sam Wilson, Driver: "With no license they most likely don't have insurance. It's just bad for everybody." Ihesha O'Neal, Driver: "Because they are not responsible, they need to no be driving. That's why their licenses are suspended." A bill that would restore No-Fault Insurance was approved by the legislature and now awaits the governor's signature. But, even if he signs it into law..it will not take effect until January First.

   •  WATCH THE WEATHER

We've seen heavy rain throughout the morning hours Friday, and the rainfall will continue through the afternoon. The heaviest rain will be gone by noon, but light to moderate rainfall will continue. By Friday night the rain will be gone. Saturday and Sunday look very nice, with highs in the lower 80s all weekend and lots of sunshine. ~Christian Garman
