Some Milton High School Students were looking for something constructive to do where they could use their artistic abilities.

Pretty soon it wasn't about passing time...But, passing on a gift.

There are no idle hands among the Angels In Our Midst.

Voice of Lauren Schraer, Milton High Junior; She found out Mrs. Slade knew how to knit.

It just slowly became a habit from there. We just showed up every Wednesday for an hour after school and stayed with Mrs. Slade.

Anna-Frances Slade, Milton High Home Ec Teacher; When I was in junior high school, a woman taught me how to knit and it was exciting for me to be able to return that gift to my students.

That's how this gathering of girls began. For two years they've been committed to learning to knit and crochet and perfecting their skills. With constantly busy hands, it wasn't long before they realized...

Ashley Cox, In the Knitting Circle; We were doing the same thing; just making scarfs and beanies and they were just going to our friends or wherever.

They had many beautiful pieces and they wanted them to have purpose and value for someone else. Again, they turned to their mentor.

Anna-Frances; Most of us had been touched either by a family member or family friend who has had hospice care and they had such a positive reaction, there was no doubt.

Had there been any doubts, the response from Covenant Hospice would have put them aside. The agency provides care for individuals in the end stages of life.

Jennifer Day, Covenant Hospice; It's just really exciting. Our patients just love these blankets.

And their families know that there are other people out there thinking about them as well. You know, it's just so special in every aspect. It really means a lot to us.

Megan Coffelt, Knitting for a Cause; What we're making is going to help somebody else and bring them some comfort. And just something made by somebody it is like showing that sombody cares.

Lauren; It's doing something we enjoy to do and something we do everyday and it's able to contribute to somebody else instead of ourselves.

Jennifer; The fact that they're teenagers; they're just young, young people thinking of others, putthing others ahead of themselves, which is a wonderful thing. It's just wonderful.

And the ladies want to do more. They've agreed to take their talents to the next level and design special covers for the patients' personal care bags...They're called dignity bags.

Ashley; Just to let them know that somebody cares and is thinking of them; whether it be our litte gifts of just simple gestures.
