Over the course of eight years, she had taken on the hardest job a person could love.
More than 30 foster children had come into her home.
The one night, a voice and a little boy came into her heart.
Voice of Ann Morgan; Joseph is seven now.
I got him right out of the hospital....I went and picked him up. he was like 24 hours old.
Rebekah was 36 hours old when I got her and she's now six years old.
Julie-Ann is five now.
And I got her when she was 36 hours old and she weighted just a tiny, tiny tad over four pounds.
Kesha is now two.
I got her when she was six months old. She was in a medical foster home.
Each of them entered the world the victim of abuse or abandonment with no one who wanted them. Ann Morgan took them into her foster home.
Ann Morgan; I'd go to his bed and I'd say, Joseph, I've got to let you go. You have to go somewhere else. Mama can't keep you. And God said, if you'll just keep him, I'll meet every need he has.
She took God at his word and adopted Joseph...Then Rebekah, then Julie-Ann, then Kesha.
Ann; I had had them since birth and they were two and three years old and I couldn't see doing that to a child. Saying, O.K., you've been here three years, I don't want you any more.
Ann did consider two obvious issues.
I'm 66.
She is a single mother of three "Grown" children and grandmother of 10. They were her biggest supporters in adopting. Then there was the matter of race.
Ann; We're all the same in God's eyes. Just because your skin's darker than mine, doesn't make a difference. And that's what I teach my children.
Peggy Custred, Adoptions Recruiter; They all head a rough start and she's helped them all to overcome that and to just blossom.
There may be more blooms on Ann's family tree. She is currently foster parent to a three year old and a one year old. Again, she's the only mama they know.
Ann; I've really prayed about it, really prayed about all the babies that I've kept. It's a God thing; it's nothing I do, not a thing I do.
Ann believes it's a God-thing that has helped her provide for these children. From her health and strength to the material things.
Ann; It's amazing what God has done for us. I could tell you stories that you just could not believe.
