An Angel In Our Midst (RN Cathy Jones)
In the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit At Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, she is an Angel Of Mercy.
But, it is where she goes and what she does on her day off, that makes Registered Nurse Cathy Jones, an Angel In Our Midst.
Luke 14 and 21: And the king told his servants, he said, Go quickly into the streets and lanes of the city and bring the poor, the maimed, the haunt and the blind. And that's the scripture that He gave me.
Every Wednesday, Cathy Jones prepares meals, gathers toiletries and bibles and takes to the roadways to find the homeless. Memories of her own painful background, follow her.
Cathy; The Lord accepted me just like I was. I wasn't exactly the most popular person. I was poor; my background was poor. I know what it is to be hungry, I know what it is to have need.
I am blessed and happy. Have you had anything to eat today?
As she tends to the needs of the body, Cathy tries to feed their souls.
And God, I'm going to ask you now that You bless them, that You lead them and You guide them and You keep them safe from all harm.
These are the people that many of us drive by and ignore. Cathy stops and goes right in their midst.
Christ meets us at the point of our need. And I don't judge; I don't condemn; I don't put them down. I accept them as they are.
He said, man looks on the outside, but I look on the inside.
I prefer the soda cause I'm just sitting out and I'm almost out of water.
You are...
Andrew, well, let me ask you something, How's your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ...
Cathy finds many who have lost their faith along the way.
Homeless man; I live in a world of racism, contemplation and hate...
Cathy; We've got a new kingdom coming. This world's going to pass away. He said, heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will stand.
Her last stop is the same every week. These men look forward to her visits.
Kenneth Avery, Homeless; She comes and hold Bible study with us right here, right here in this parking lot.
Calvin Chessher; Homeless; She's doing God's work. Helping the homeless people.
Kenneth; Gave me a haircut; gave both of us a haircut. That shocked me when you did that Catherine.
Cathy; Jesus said, Freely you have received, freely give.
