Troop Withdrawal: Should a timetable be established for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq?
Comment: who cares
Comment: Definitely not. Look at it this way: if your home was burglarized, would you set a time limit on the police investigation? Of course not, it would be over when it's over. In a very eery way, the same concept applies to military force (once it is used). If we packed up and ran, we'd be back there before the water waves (created by our leaving) had time to settle. We HAVE TO STAY FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES, wake up people -- we let Congress run Vietnam for us and look how long it took! I say let the military do what they are trained to do and everyone else bud out. We should all be thanking God that we do have a military capable of doing the hard job and staying the duration, regardless of outsider influence. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: WE NEED TO STAY I IRAQ AS LONG AS NESSARY TO STABILIZE THE COUNTRY IT MAY TAKE 20 YEARS; wE STARTED IT, SO DON''T BAIL OUT NOW. from FT WALTON BEACH, FL by MEL
Comment: I want the troops home, like we all do, but we can not let the politicians tell the military how to run the war.

Comment: With no WMD's and Saddam gone, there is no clear objective. What is winning? What is success? Victory? It keeps changing. This is not worth our children's blood. Bring them home. from Navarre, FL by Gini
Comment: Grandstanding Senators should leave the war decisions to the Generals who know war. I agree wholeheartedly with General Patraeus. from Pensacola, FL by John
Comment: WE have to establish a long term relationship. The Iraqie people- the civilians depend on us for their future their dreams of freedom and liberty. Once you start something - you have to finish it until the end. from Pace by C.C.
Comment: I'd like to have a timetable, but I do not believe it would be beneficial. It would be just a political function to satisfy the dems. from Gulf Breeze by Don
Comment: Letting the enemy know when you are going to stop fighting is foolish. If we had told Hitler when we were pulling out of Europe, it would have been suicide for our forces? Fascism is alive and well in the U.S., and if you know the definition of fascism, you know what party is it's representative! from Pensacola, FL by Mike
Comment: A SPECIFIC DATE/TIMETABLE IS NOT POSSIBLE IF THIS OPERATION IS TO BE SUCCESSFUL from PENSACOLA FL by JERRY

Comment: Posting a time table for the American forces withdraw from Iraq would only give the Iraqi insurgents another way to coordinate control.
Why is it that a local Marine colonel served only eight months in lieu of the normal Iraqi tour length? from Gulf Breeze by Jim
Comment: I do not feel that we should give any one a timetable to withdraw our troops. from Mary Esther, Fl by Ray
Comment: i think it is a good idea to set a timeline for the withdrawal of our troops. this nation needs to get out of the nation building business and completely re-haul our foreign policies in order to halt bloodshed on our troops and hardship on their families. if it is a war on terror, then we need to be fighting it diplomacy before actual violence. my question is...who is actually benefittng from this war in iraq? it is highly apparent that the american public is not benefitting one single bit economically. the security of our nation has been greatly improvised once more stringent government take over of our airport and port security instead of the "let the industry themselves police and pay for it" attitude was not good enough... from p'cola by h
Comment: let NATO troops take over. from pensacola, florida by rick
Comment: Since the Iraq government seems to slow roll everything, it would force them to starting action on solving their problems. from Milton FL by John
Comment: Yes i think that there should be a timetable. Our troops have been over there long enough and its about time they come home! I mean the least they could do is have a timeframe as to when they should be expecting to return home. These are peoples lives were talking about! from Pensacola/Florida by Amanda
Comment: To many, this is an absolutely rediculous idea. Why not just hand over our game plan while we're at it? Why can't people just let the people who know how to fight a war do it, and support those who are putting their lives on the line to protect the freedom so many are bent on abusing. from Mobile, AL
