Florida's Delegates: Do you think all of Florida's delegates should be seated at the national conventions?
Comment: When I voted, a worker by the voting machine gave me a sticker, it says, My vote counted. So I believed my vote counted. And it should. from Crestview, Fl by Eva
Comment: Yes, the citizens voted and why should we be deprived because of politics of the higher ups. Primary Day for electing candidates should be on the same day for the whole nation. The people have a right to vote and we are being deprived by caucases and other ways of deciding who gets the vote. We are an educated nation, not like a couple hundred years ago. Why are we being deprived of out right to vote for candidates of the reigning parties? from Milton, FL by Sandra
Comment: The Florida delegates will not change the final result.
Florida chose to violate the rules and the next 4 years will solve the problem. from Fort Walton Beach, FL by Ray
Comment: We (Florida) was a joke with the hanging chad and now we, the voters, are totally neglected. from Pensacola, L by Carey
Comment: If we thought our vote was not going to count, we wouldn't have "Wasted" our time and gas to go to the polls and cast our vote. It seems to me that it's a form of "taxation without representation". from Navarre, FL by Jaye
Comment: Is Florida in the USA? from Pace, Fl by Julian
Comment: Florida should have followed the rules. We knew the consequences, yet chose to break the rules. I really blame the parties in Florida for taking away the voters' right to be heard. Sorry! from Cantonment, FL by Susan
Comment: Changing the rules after the fact is unfair. Since it did not count, some people did not waste the time, others may have voted differently. Since it did not matter, I just my vote as a protest vote which I would not have done if it counted. Also, the candidates did not campaign since it did not count so the electorate had minimal information. If you want it to count, should be a special election. from Fort Walton Beach by David
Comment: Yes, Florida and Michigan delegates should both be counted as should the other half of the Republican delegates. I understand this was a punishment but the voters didn't make the decision to change the primary dates. Punish the state governments some other way. Of course, this will be one way to assure Obama wins the nomination and it seems fairly apparant this is the goal of the democratic party as well as the media and probably the Republicans. from Pace, FL by Paula
Comment: To not count Florida's vote was the decision of someone else--not me. To not count my vote is a violation of my right to vote and to have my voice heard through that vote. Yes, I understand that rules are rules but I fail to see how this one is "for the good of all people." from Pensacola FL by Betty
Comment: The delegates should be seated. The Florida legislation which is predominately republican is the ones who change the primary date which caused this action by the republican and democratic parties. from Navarre, Fl. by C J
Comment: WHEN will voters in Florida have a fair shot at voting?
The delegates should be seated, lest you tick off the democratic party in Florida. We'll see how much Dean really cares about the Democratic Party.
It doesn't look hopeful, though, since Dean and the "Democrats for America" slant to Obama. As does the ex-RNC chairman Wilhelm.
Seat the delegates! The DNC has the power to represent the individual voter. from FWB, FL by Hillde
Comment: Democratic Committee said no, so keep it that way. Do give in the Cliton from Gulf Breeze, Fl by Rob
Comment: The devil didn't say anything about Florida's Delegates until she got behind. She sit back and waited to use we Floridains as ponds. No-Way to the devil. from Pensacola by Bill
Comment: I've watched this mess with growing apprehension! It is
criminal that all the voters
of Florida just will not get
counted toward electing our
country's president!!!!!!!
We should forget all this
delegate crap, which was maybe
needed in the long ago past,
but not now. With today's
communication system, let's go
back to the popular vote and
forget this delegate business.
It seems to me to be just a
way for either party to try
and twist the public's choice
out of their hands and into the hands of a powerful few.
I am very, very angry about
this. Who would believe this
could happy in America???!!!!! from Pensacola, FL by Lee
Comment: Yes, all delagates should be seated and receive their equal votes as the other states. We the people elected our State Representatives, and we the people decided to have an earlier election. That is our rights as citizens of Florida and the United States of America. Those narrow minded people who disagree should remember our country was founded upon Democracy and that the Majority still rules. They would steal all our rights away from us if we let them. Freedom is for all, not just those little narrow minded states like Vermont who wants to secede from our Union anyway. from Pensacola by James
Comment: We knew what the actions would be when florida changed our primary date. If our vote doesnt count this year we need to get rid of the people who put us in this position. Tell people to stop crying and live with their consequences from Pensacola, Fl by James
Comment: I believe that the political machine in this nation has gotten too big for its' own good. By denying the delegates, whatever the reason, is tantamount to denying the right to vote. Surely our overpaid and underworked politicians can understand that. This nation almost tore itself apart (again) IN THE '60s, with the one issue of the black vote. As it turned out, and rightfully so, their votes count just as much as anyone elses, and that includes the votes of state delegates. The truth be known, the individual vote in this country counts very little when it comes to "delegates" and to the electoral college. But the fact remains that we the people have the right to vote in this nation--if our politicians can't understand that, they have no right being in politics. from Mary Esther,Fl. by Tom
Comment: all the delegate should count, for both sides, why not? from pensacola,fl by glen
Comment: It’s ironic that just as Democrats tried to change the rules after the election in 2000, they now want to change the rules again – this time their own Party rules! I think the ensuing fight within the Democrat Party over this will ultimately guarantee a Republican win in November. I plan to enjoy it! from Navarre, FL by Ron
