Endorsements: Do endorsements of a presidential candidate affect your vote?
Comment: Their profession and popularity do not make them anymore believable than the next guy. from Pensacola FL by Cheryl
Comment: When a Politician makes Political endorsements it donesn't swap my vote. That's Politics. I wonder if the candidate really votes the way they are asking you to themselves anyways. Often, I bet not. from Fort Walton Beach by Gary
Comment: The only difference between political and commercial endorsements is that the endorser is paid for their commercial endorsement, where in a political endorsement the voter pays in the long run. from Pensacola, FL by Jim
Comment: I am a conservative if a person get a endorsememt by a liberal newspaper or person I tend to vote against themso it does have an effect thou it is a negative one.LB from Gulf shores, Al. by Lonnie
Comment: YEP, Now I finally know the mistakes I made in the last election~ Crist, hit the showers, , Martinez~ same-o, I'll never vote for McCain, nor another "Phony Republican" again!, nor either of the first 2 from NICEVILLE by Joe
Comment: The endorsements are of value when they come from the hometown newspapers or individuals that know the candidate. The Boston Herald not endorsing Romney, but endorsing Mc Cain is very important to my vote since Romney was Gov of Massachusetts. Mc Cain was also endorsed by the NY Times and not Guiliani. These endorsements tell me that the local papers know who is in the best interest of the people and who hasnt been, Beth from Navarre from Navarre FL by Beth
Comment: I think for myself
Comment: I would like to think that they do not. However; the truth is that they do. Not always in a positive way. An endorsement may make it less likely that I vote for a particular candidate. from Pensacola, FL by tom
Comment: No, endorsements do not affect my decisions. I want to know what are they going to do and how are they going to accomplish the goals/tasks. from Milton, FL by Sandra
Comment: Depending on who it is it will make me vote the opposite. I can't stand most of these people who just want their name in the paper by making a big deal ablut who they support. I too could care less who they support and shme on the people who are too shallow to find out about a candidate and just vote the way and actor votes. from Cantonment by Robert
Comment: Yes, as if you don't know, we are ordinary citizens. As such, we always don't know all about the candidates we try to put in office. Are they going to be truthful in everything? An endorsement from a prominent citizen is just that, an endorsement that this person merits his or her favor. If that person is a model citizen, then it will swing my vote to the candidate he/she is endorsing if I am undecided. If you already know who you will vote for, your cousin, neighbor, coworker, brother, father, sister, husband, wife? Well turn off the TV and crawl under a rock until election time. from Milton, Fl by Abe
Comment: Actually, I think all the primaries should be on the same day. Then endorsements would mean more and people would vote for who they really believed in. How do we change the system???? thanks from Milton, FL. by Justine
Comment: IN FACT, THEY SOMETIMES TURN ME AGAINST THE CANDIDATE OR WHATEVER IS BEING VOTED ON. from Pensacola, FL by Betty
Comment: Bob - I would respect your endorsement much, much more than any politician. There is very little ( and they do say "very little") that any of the principals in this race could say that would have any effect on who I would vote for.
Will call you soon and we will do lunch.
Warm regards,
Paul from Milton, FL by Paul
Comment: Yes, I am swayed by endorsements but not in the way that you might think. Each time McCain, Hilary or Obama gets another "career politician, status-quo" endorsement, I am more determined to vote for anyone else. I can't help but wonder if they really think he's best for the job or just the least likely to rock the boat and their front-seat spot in it. from Florida by Carlotta
Comment: My own mother doesn't influence me. Governor Crist sure isn't going to either. from Pensacola, Fl by Nona
Comment: Only weak and opinionated people need someone to give them direction. Because they can't make a decision on their own. They need someone to help run their lives for them. from Pensacola, FL by Dennis
Comment: IT DOES NOT MATTER, IT IS ALL
SO PHONEY AND WHERE HAVE ALL THE SILENT BACKERS BEEN SO FAR. LIKE THEY CARE THE REST OF THE TIME! IT IS REFRESHING TO SEE A NEWS COMMENTATOR VOICE HOW MOST OF US FEEL. THANKS from MILTON, FL by BEVERLY
Comment: I vote on the issues and who I think would make the most difference in my quality of life and for the best interests of the United States. from Navarre, FL by Leandra L
Comment: Emphatically "NO". Most public figures have hidden motives, or in the case of "actors" they have no more political knowledge than I. from Rhinelander, Wi by Dan
Comment: Is this a trick question? One of the best recollections I have of being educated is the fact that I HAVE A BRAIN! The Good Lord gave us all a brain that generally tends to work, if people choose to exert the effort. The political system in this country is not the easiest thing in the world to figure out, but we (the people) are the ones who choose our elected representatives. If we followed the decisions of endorsers, then the Constitution would indicate that endorsements choose our politicians. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: Endorsements mean nothing to me. I study the position of each candidate and vote for the one who will work to pass the fair tax act. from Navarre, FL by Gene
Comment: Current actors and politicians giving endorsements? Isn't that part of the problem rather than the solution? from Pensacola/FL by Richard
Comment: I believe if you want something you should do it the old fashion way and earn it yourself. People will have more respect for you and if you are really the "one" then people will follow. from Pace , Florida by Justin
