Beijing Olympics: Do you agree with the President's decision to attend the Olympic games in China?
Comment: Bush is really attending because he wants to show his appreciation to the Chinese for buying so much of our U.S. government issued treasury securities. Soon, they will own the United States of America and possibly rename this country to be the United States of China. from Orange Beach, AL by F.
Comment: I do agree. But only if he
takes a gold medal. from Pensacola, Florida by Robin
Comment: human rights abuse? the united states has the galls to say this to another country? while they keep people in jail in cuba without a trial? criminals running loose violating all kinds of human rights to their victims here and get off on bail? don't even start me on how the corporations treat their customers... from p'cola by h
Comment: Games are not important. from Grand Bay Al by David
Comment: I think it's great that he is going to represent our country and support all of the athletes who worked hard to get there. from Daphne Alabama by Delilah
Comment: Offend the Chinese people? What about the Cuban population. Has he not offended them for years. He is not consistent on where he waves his flag. from Pensacola by Caroline
Comment: Since there are going to be over 80 heads of state and nations attending it is for this great opportunity to meet w other politicians that is specifically why he is going to be there. it is not just for the entertainment of the athletics competitions. He is actually meeting with The president of France and Russian leaders,so it might be a good thing if they discuss warnings of nuclear warfare, arming Iran as Russia is doing. from milton/fl by rhonda
Comment: I think President Bush should attend the Olympics and then claim China for the USA so our prices in the stores for stuff which is made in China would go down. Also, I think our President Bush should arm-wrestle the President (hard to spell name) of Iran for World peace. If President Bush wins, we get World peace, but if he loses... well, I guess we'd have to give them Israel, so President Bush needs to start working-out now so that doesn't happen. Thank you and God bless America! from Pensacola/FL by Busbee
Comment: Critics will read what they want to read on Pres Bush's action. They are like 2 year olds who want attention all the time. Patriotism does not dwell inside the USA. Support for our athletes who spent extraordinary effort and talent to get there should be applauded and I think merits a visit and support from our President. Human rights violation is China's problem since time immemorial. It's called communism. Now, show me a communist country that has'nt been accused of human rights violation. Is it right? No, it's not, but are we going to hold our breath until they change? from Milton, Fl by Abe
Comment: GREAT PR FOR THE US OF A from pensacola fl by james
Comment: There is no reason why we should say it is ok for US athletes to compete but wrong for the President to attend. from Pensacola by Andrew
Comment: BECAUSE IF HE'S NOT HERE HE CAN'T SCREW UP ANYTHING ELSE, ATLEAST NOT HERE ANYWAY, MAYBE CHINA from PENSACOLA, FL by TIMOTHY
Comment: Sure i think presdent bush should go, why not? isnt American in the gamse? some people are so stupid to ask such questions. ps, like your news T 4 PM. LOVE THE PEOPLE ON THERE, NOW A QUESTION,WHY DOES SUE S. HAVE TO INTERVIEW ON THERE? MOLLY DOES A VERY GOOD JOB. from SEMINOLE, ALBAMA by WILSON
Comment: I think it is nice of Presidet Bush to think about attending, but in this troubled world, esp Beijing, no, he should not go...mainly because his life will be at stake more there than any where in our world. from pensacola, fl by georgia
Comment: Any country that abuses the human rights of its population should never have been considered for the olympic designation. Olympics should be held in a totally fee country or not at all from Gulf Breeze by Nancy
Comment: I do not think that the head of the biggest democracy should be degredating the office he holds by attending a sporting event in the largest full blown communist nation. He can't afford to attend a baseball or football game in Washington D.C., but yet he flies around the world for a seat at the Olympics? While on the topic, I also disagree with sending ANY American athletes to the Beging Olympics period. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: The athletes work so hard for the opportunity to represent our country. I think it is admirable that President Bush is willing to take flack from the critics in order to do what's right - support the American athletes. from Destin, FL by Dawn
Comment: This is supposed to be a non-political event. from Mary Esther, FL by Alan
Comment: It is just too risky right now with the other world events that are taking place. from MILTON, FL by KIM
Comment: I think it is wonderful that President George Bush is attending the Beijing Olympics, China. It's a great way to show China and the rest of the world that Freedom will stick together. I would like to see all the world leaders be there and share fried rice and wave their own flag to support their teams. China is bad on Human Rights. The Chinese government should allow their people to enjoy nude bars, drugs, alcohols, and many criminal activities like we have here. Oh, they will need some obese people there too. My Democrat friends told me they wanted Bush to go to China and don't come back. I don't think they meant that at all. from Pensacola, FL by Christian
Comment: If that's what he wants to do then so be it. I would love to go to the Olympics, but I can't because I don't have that kind of money. from Milton/FL by Pam
Comment: HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSER?! What human rights has he ever abused? Therefore, why shouldn't he go? Not only would it might offend the Chinese if he didn't go, but it would also offend our athletes and country as well. from Milton/FL by Elisabeth
Comment: Who cares, as long as he doesn't make too big of an ass out of himself. It's just W... from navarre, florida by dan
Comment: He is showing support for our young athletes. This is NOT about politics from Pensacola, Fl by vera
Comment: I don't think the olympics should even be held in China but since it is, there are better avenues for political processes than using the olympics as was proven in years past. from crestview, fl by david
Comment: Absolutely, I agree with the President's decision to attend the Olympic Games in China! It seems a double standard to expect U.S. athletes to participate but not the President. What's up with that?
