Comment: NO! It has been a matter of public record since 1964 that smoking is dangerous to your health. If, in spite of the warnings and continue communications, a person decides to smoke, that's fine with me .... but don't reward that person for their stupidity. from Pensacola, FL by Rick

Comment: Yes, because the tovacco companies need to give something back. For cigarette smoking kills,they need to alsaw help the smokes stop smoking, and put adds out on the air that will help our teenages to know smoking is not cool and that it kills from Jay,Fl. by David

Comment: I don't think so because smokers exercised their "free choice" in starting to smoke. Yes, the companies hire marketing agencies to "tout their products", but so do any number of companies. As a "reformed smoker" myself, I say that I quit using the same will-power that got me to start in the first place. Since I quit twenty years ago, and IF I SHOULD DEVELOP SOME TYPE OF CANCER before I die, should I jump on the bandwagon and sue because I quit before the cancer manifested itself? It is a deplorable habit, but nonetheless a breakable habit. If a person chooses to continue to smoke, that is their choice; in view of all the negative things we know today, I can't understand why one would choose to smoke anyway. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom

Comment: If this is fair, we should make the alcohol makers pay all the alcoholics too. Where would it stop? McDonalds made many of us over weight causing health issues.
