POP: JASON CASTRO DENIES "DON'T VOTE" CONSPIRACY
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jason Castro is shooting down the conspiracy theory that he had said "don't vote" when his phone numbers were shown this week on "American Idol." Castro says he had said "vote" twice. He sat down and realized it probably looked like "don't vote," so the second time he was shown with his numbers, he purposely said "vote" just once. Simon Cowell had said he thought Castro blew the lyrics to "Mr. Tambourine Man" on purpose, but Castro denies that too. He says he couldn't believe he forgot a line that's "written on your soul." Perhaps that goes back to his college days. Castro says he first started learning guitar as a freshman but he would never learn songs all the way through. < < 00:34 "" Margie Szaroleta Jason Castro admits he was relieved to be kicked off "American Idol" this week. HOT AC: LILY ALLEN'S APPEARANCE FEE USED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MEASURES
LONDON (AP) -- Lily Allen can't make the Isle of Wight Festival in England, so she's being replaced by... trees, and lots of them. New Music Express reports Allen canceled her appearance at this weekend's festival. The organizers have announced they will use the money they save by not paying Lily Allen to make the festival more environmentally friendly. They've spent the money on tree planting, bee habitats and a program to encourage businesses to cut down on travel. Promoter John Giddings says the festival will still have a negative environmental impact but the new measures are an improvement.

HOT AC: GAVIN DEGRAW SHOWS HIS MASCULINITY
NEW YORK (AP) -- Gavin DeGraw feels if you call him a singer-songwriter, you might as well call him a sissy. DeGraw says it makes him feel like a "weakling" because the way singer-songwriters are marketed. He says, "It's not masculine enough for me. I don't feel like I fall into that category in a lot of ways." DeGraw has seen a sign that he's seen as tough: more guys are showing up to his concerts. Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell were the only two who performed. Mike Gordon nearly didn't come because he had been sick earlier in the day.
